Last updated on December 30th, 2021 | By: Grady Galvez

Though I have already reviewed pocket hoses earlier but this one is surely created with the newest features and technology. I really appreciate that how these are light weight, super easy to store and carry.

In comparison to the traditional rubber garden hoses this is better and easier to use. Apart from this it also has a re-engineered retractable rib-cage with an increased diameter that makes it for a more powerful spray.

Stay assured that the outer sleeve of the silver bullet hose won’t tangle, tear, burst, or kink.

One issue that is a matter of concern, as the previous hoses I have used did not hold for a year or more. But this one is claimed to be robust….let us find out!

What is it?

The silver bullet hose expands and features a cloth-like exterior casing with brass fittings on its ends. This hose also has a removable brass spray nozzle.

Real User Reviews - Pocket Hose Silver Bullet

The reviews about the new silver bullet hose are mixed. Ever since these hoses released in the year 2012, many versions of this have taken birth.

We have reviewed its newest version which is 50ft. These are light in weight, but may need a bit more maintenance while being used and stored as harsh weather could cause damage.

Generally, there are three types of complaints that are associated with retractable hoses.

  • They may burst after much use and abuse.

  • They may gradually degrade when stored in a season

  • May breakdown if exposed to excessive pressure for a longer duration.

Expert tips:

  • Drain them properly and keep them well for experiencing their service for good number of years. Do not store while water is still in them.

  • Storing the hose indoors is a smart choice. Although they have an extra lining for protection (UV rays and other things), but storing outside is just not the call.

No brainer!! This will keep them safe from harmful UV rays and harsh weather conditions.

You can use sprayers with this unit.

You can also use it for commercial purposes and this is small enough to be transported or stored (fits easily in your RV or boat too).

Negatives

  • Higher pressure may burst the hose and this is experienced by users at home.

  • The water may tear through and rip apart the hose.

  • The new design offers flexibility but this may lead to pinholes in the hose. Longer length hoses are more prone to this.

Final Observations and Thoughts

As I have reviewed a few more hoses earlier also but this one seems to be more durable and a higher quality hose.

I have been using this for a season or more and have felt that if drained and stored well this is less prone to any damage and sits stronger too. Even the expansion and contraction when in use and after use is fabulous.

You can surely try one as this is very easy to carry when you are out on a trip or just performing some home chores.
